The company was initially formed as a proprietorship in 2002
by Mr P.L.Uduwana and had only two employees Mr & Mrs Uduwana, until the year 2006. They were engaged in supplying
material for Water Projects. The proprietorship was converted to Savinda Enterprises (Private) Limited in 2004. 

The company recruited more staff members in 2006, and had 13 staff members until 2010. More staff were recruited during the year 2010 increasing the staff strength to 30. During the year 2014 they expanded their scope of work and started construction projects. Construction of water and waste water projects. Building construction projects. Highway construction projects. Electrical and mechanical engineering projects. Staff were increased accordingly and at present 196 staff members are employed under Savinda Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. 

The company went into an agreement with a Chinese company named Sinohydro Corporation and accepted a subcontract of System Rehabilitation for Non-Revenue Water Reduction in South of the Colombo City in 2017, which is a Rs 6 Billion project and the largest project undertaken so far. 

Further, company diversified into the following areas through the  “Millaniya Sports Village Project” which commenced in 2020. 

This project is consisting of the following units;

Luxury Hotel

Golf Course

Condominium apartments consisting of 150 units.
